Nothing has value unless it fulfills some purpose. Bitcoin can be the people's currency, but even that is still subject to adoption. Each alt-coin has to be valued on its intended purpose. Unfortunately few of them have nothing more than a "me too" impact. Which is why they are dying out. Just like Coke & Pepsi are the predominant leaders in the bubbly soda drink market. The millions of other "me too" drink products just died off naturally.
