Building your own table (part 1)
Hi fellow steemians, ever thought "IKEA is great but every person I visit got the same furniture" and got the idea to build your own piece of furniture let's say a table?
Well I did, with some coincidence involved and some help of a good friend: I'm going to tell you this story in parts just to get a feeling if people like reading this and also to maybe go more in depth in case people ask questions.
Alot of people will be familiar with the rotating security doors preventing unwanted people piggybacking on authorized people entering a place, sometimes you'll see a big plate of safety glass on both sides of these security doors.
It just so happened that my good friend was working at a place where these security doors where about to be replaced, and with that the glass would also get replaced: he asked me if I might be interested in one of these plates, could I think of something to do with it?
I pondered and sketched up ideas for awhile and thought up a table where the glass plate would be held up by 4 tree stumps (as I thought this would be a great contrast: this "high tech" glass against something really natural and authentic).
From this point the whole idea took shape, and the sourcing of the needed materials began, I will continue this story in part 2: would love to hear feedback and or questions from you to make this story as informative as possible: thanks in advance!
Very DIY, Much resource.
Such WOW!
