That guy 😍😍😍 My sister (the interior architect) has made loads of things in her apartment from samples she has requested from design companies. It would definitely be worth finding somewhere who does amazing wood stuff, requesting some samples and repeating until you have enough freebie wood to make a whole table!
Ooooohh, I like that idea! We've got some bamboo left from doing the bedroom floor, so that's one option, but I do like a "patchwork" type effect.
