Chainmaille Tutorial pt. 3: European 4 in 1 Common Errors

The first error is simply that the bottom of a ribbon is a mess:

Hold it by the spread out rings and one ring should drop:

Push the two rings in the center back:

And pull on them. The two rings on top should flare out:

The next error frequently happens while fixing the last one. The ring in the middle becomes flipped:

Pinch the top for rings together, and flip the indicated ring up:

Now repeat the steps for the last fix, but backwards - push the rings forward from the flipped ring and pull:

The next error is a skipped ring. This is fairly simple to fix - just remove the ring and place it back through. However, it's important to catch this one early. You'll be removing a lot of rings otherwise. The skipped ring and ring that needs to be reworked are marked in red.

The next issue is a ring put in backwards. It's a little trickier to fix. It's best to start by removing the ring entirely. The error and gap left are shown in red.

Now put the ring back in, being sure to place it in the right order. In this case, you can see the middle rings have the bottoms behind the two bottom rings, and tops above the two top rings.

All fixed!
