RE: The Real House Flip of Cleveland - Episode 2 - Tear Down the Wall!
Wow! How much mold, rotting old building materials, and illegal/toxic stuff (e.g., asbestos - usually insulation) did you find?
I participated in asbestos rip-out evolutions in the Navy/Marine Corps (as a medical advisor) on several, antiquated ships and inside ancient supply depots.
Those "space suits" are like portable saunas!
Enjoyed your post.
Namaste, JaiChai
This one hasn't been bad as far as all that goes. There was mold in one corner in the basement. It looks like the previous owners had built a bedroom down there and didn't do a good job of it, so the drywall was all moldy.
The funniest thing we've found so far was the insulation: someone used plastic sandwich baggies to insulate one of the upstairs windows. I guess there was a breeze coming in and they fixed it with whatever they had on hand. :-)
Asbestos is nothing to mess around with. I'm glad you wore the 'space suit.'
