Greenhouse plans 2019 - Part 2
Well i’ve managed to make a fair bit of progress from the last update so thought i go ahead and share it with you all.
If you didnt see my last post you can check it out below, i’d like to think you can see that progress made from the last post :)
I reckon I’m about 70% done most of the major design work is over, but that doesnt mean its plan sailing as its always the little tweaks and additions that eat up all of the time. So far though im excited with how its going.
Left to do
- Design the door
- Improve the structure around the roof to make it stronger
- Work in a load of vents
- Plan how the door end will be glazed
- design the interior for maximum space
The more time i spend on this the more $$$$ signs i see coming...
That should scare me but, look at it.. Im liking how its going and its looking like its going to be a strong little thing. If that means investing a little more into it then i guess im going to have to find a little more cash to make it happen.
One thing that i should point out this is still going to be a fraction of the price of what an off the shelf greenhouse house would cost, and i dread to think what someone would charge to design it to my spec and build it so the savings will soon add up
Well i best get back to work as im on a tight schedule, once its designed i need to strip it down to make plans, costings and then on to jigs and other bits to speed it all up.
I think I’m being ambitious but all going well, and i don’t get divorced im aiming for March 😅
Keep on making it happen, tinker, plan, plot and build. DIY for the win!

Do not miss the last post from @steemitboard:
Woah! That's awesome! What's you budget adding up to? If you were in North Texas or even south oklahoma, I'd be down to help with construction.
Great detail on the design. Water collection, sunken floor, the place looks really awesome! Are you considering aquaponics? I imagine a small heater to keep a water body at temperature would help the whole thing act as an awesome thermal mass for a winter greenhouse.
Not sure what its adding up to so far, but a lot less than buying a ready made one, once i finish the design ill be doing a post on the costs etc,
Appreciate the offer, if only i was closer haha
My only issue with aquaponics is the greenhouse needs to be off ofgrid as i cant get mains electricity to it and running a heater would be an issue doing via solar unless i got a big system in which would blow the budget, i have scope for some form of hydroponics as ive got 60w of solar so far in tue current greenhouse that could run a pump or bubbler with a bit of thought.
Thanks for stopping by ✌

Well heck, you don't have an industrial 12kw diesel generator in the budget? How can you call it a project without a generator? 🙃🤔
Haha 😆 ill see what i can do

I am a Blender user. I recently designed a barn addition with it which was really helpful to see how I wanted it layed out, but also to build an accurate materials list.
It is so cool to have all this information we can share as well as the tools we have too.
Cool ive used blender a bit but im not that skilled in it yet. Totally agree on the sharing of information. Thanks for stopping by 👍

That's really cool dude, wish I was that handy. You don't fancy giving me some of the produce you grow do ya? Oh have a good Christmas with your family and I hope your daughter has a fantastic time.
Thanks @hayleyuk if you local by all means 😅 it often looks funny or wonky shapes but tastes great... hope you have a great christmas to!
