DIY 3DPrinter Filament Drying

in #diy7 years ago

Hi ! Just a short post about a few ways to dry your filament for your 3D Printer.
Having moisture is really a pain for the quality, nearly all filaments are absorbing moisture, so it is not a bad idea to see how it can be done effectively and cheaply.

Recently RichRap shown the following thing for the Filament Drying.
https://richrap.blogspot.lu/2018/02/diy-heated-drybox-for-3d-printing.html

It uses a low cost adjustable temperature pet heating bed mat used for amphibian (less than 7$), a small temperature/hydrometer that can be found for less than 2$, a box and a few parts to print.

Joe Mike Terranella came with another solution using a cheap food dehydrator (40$)

The Taulman way is probably one of the cheapest to go while being effective: a bucket, a 40 to 60W bulb lamp, few holes, a small rod to attach your spools and here you go.
