So what I've done here is a lot of sanding to get the edges matched up best I can. I used the little sanding wheel on my dremmel (went through about four of them) to take off the bigger chunks of material. It eats away at the wood pretty quick. Then when I got if roughly flush, I used an orbital sander with 80 grit to smooth it out better. Then I went over it all with 120 to smooth it out. This is what I ended up with.

Its looking much better, but its still kinda rough. They call pine soft wood for a reason. Made the mistake of working on it some on the ground and got little dents in places. I don't think I'm going to sand it all out perfect, I'm kinda liking the rough look some. I know the inside of the front an back look pretty terrible, but I'm making a screen that will cover up the front panels were the speakers go. I also have another piece of wood that goes on the back to cover up where the electronics are, so you won't see in there either. Next step will be sanding it down a little more with some finer grit sandpaper, then stain it. I'll let you know when that gets done.

Thanks for reading,
Brian

oo i think its looking pretty . the sanding looks great wonderful wonderful

Building speaker cabinets without expensive tools is usually pretty tricky. It's harder to get the joints just right.
