between the lines you can see how crypto and cashless systems are gonna come in real fast

Royal Mint makes jewellery as people go cashless

“We’re not seeing the world is suddenly going cashless, but we do recognise there is a change in the way people want to choose to spend their money.
Remember that the royal mint has been around for 1,100 years minting things (mainly coins) and last year produced 3.3 billion coins! — that’s rapidly changing now by all accounts as they Segway into jewellery. .
If you ever needed an indicator that the ways we have always known coming to an end it’s the fact that people are using less physical cash and are paying on card, receiving digitally and not even seeing paper and coins anymore, the transition between cash, cheques and cards for crypto then will be incredibly rapid because digital is all encompassing.

I remember when I first started vlogging well over a decade ago speaking to a homeless guy (he was a gambler) who was thrown out of his home by his parents and had to rough it on the streets. He was constantly in and out of shared accommodation, living on a knife edge from place to place — trying to get a job but the company was in another town and a train ride away — trying to convince the social to pay his fares and then having the issue that they place wanted to pay him by cheque when he didn’t have a bank account (because no fixed address)
Every time we have an advancement somewhere we lose people through the cracks also in the process which often has the knock on effect of costing the system(s) more money to temporary bail out these people that did not get the education or advice they needed or custom solution that could have assisted them to maintain or build a life that most of us are used to working for — the method of payment should not be a restriction.
Which is one of the reasons why I love crypto so much in many regards, it remove the middleman and the notion that your ‘services’ in your world are built on a left or right politic and instead are this decentralised value exchange economy that you can ‘dial’ into — with many homeless using local library for internet connection the notion of mobilising people with relative cheap android phones, some security know-how and direction — we can save people falling between those cracks and maintain some self respect in the process, maybe valuing they time and effort to keep their heads above water in the process.
Just some thoughts.

Biggest Norwegian bank has already said they could run the bank without cash on 1 year notice. No need for crypto either.
