Well, 30 years is a good, solid figure I'd say. Not many make it that long anymore nowadays. I clocked up 34 years with the British Army, and would have added another 7 or so - if they hadn't closed down and left Germany.
I really don't want to belittle anything here, but this certificate is.... ehm... a bit poxy, to put it politely.
This is what I got for 25 years:
It nicely framed and all, and it was presented to me by that general who signed it, in a little ceremony. I have a similar 30 year one, too, but thats not framed and in some draw... not so sure where. Plus I got a couple of hundred bucks bonus each time as well. :)
Seems to me the money would be more appreciated! A certificate is nice, though--we're framing it. I never did plan to work anywhere near that long as a dispatcher--I expected I'd be writing full time long before then.
