FBI files on Walt Disney mentioned several times about how helpful Walt Disney was. He was SAC (Special Agent in Charge) contact for the FBI and the intelligence community. This was all before he produced FBI documentaries of his show.
This is most likely due to Walt Disney production of propaganda pieces for government agencies.
He also was spying on his fellow movie-makers in Hollywood.
He was involved heavily with the MPA which especially deals with issues involving Communism in Hollywood.

Samuel G Engel also a SAC. Walt Disney awarded for 33 years in Hollywood.
Under oath, Disney admitted that he produced propaganda pieces for government agencies. The above is from his FBI files.
The FBI files also show in 1961 by the FBI ask him to produce a few cartoon shorts for the Child Molester Program. The shorts were created to inform children what to do when approached by a stranger.
