Did God create men or did men create God?
Hey my name is Florian and I'm from Germany. The internet gives us the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world. This is why I want to ask you one simple question. A question that splits humanity. Everyone has a opinion and everyones opinion has to be respected. Please keep that in mind! The question is:
I believe the most likely scenario is that men created "god". A story of an all powerful being that both brings comfort, answers the unanswered questions and keeps us in line.
Every day we understand more about how our universe works, and it often doesn't match up very nicely with what you'll find in any holy book. The bible for instance, in genesis, implies that god "split the waters" into the sky and ocean. So the sky is made of water. We can disprove this pretty effectively now.
If there is a god, I doubt any religion has managed to figure out what it wants or cares about, if anything.
