PLASTIC-EATING FUNGUS
Scientists from China and Pakistan have recently discovered the potential to revolutionize plastic waste management for good. An intense research was carried out by these scientists to seek a possible means of disposing of plastic, which is termed: "Non-Degradable" without affecting the environment.
ASPERGILLUS TUBINGENSIS
A study titled, "Bio-degradation of Polyesther Polyurethane by Aspergillis Tubingensis" , authored by nine researchers from Pakistan and China discovered that the aforesaid fungus can break down non-biodegradable plastic in weeks by secreting enzymes which pull apart individual molecules. A couple of natural methods have also been discovered such as the Wax Worm . And now , a fungus called the Aspergillus Tubingensis, has been discovered.
This is really nice as it is an eco-friendly and cheap alternative to other costly method of recycling of plastic waste.
