Obama ordered cyberattack against Moscow
Barack Obama ordered the preparation of a 'cyber-offensive' against Russia as a retaliation for Moscow's interference in US presidential elections. But just before leaving the White House. This is what the Washington Post reports, which explains how the final decision whether to launch the attack or not would be touched by neo-president Donald Trump. The paper tells Obama's reluctance to take measures against Russia before the November elections, "not to worsen things."
In August last year, then US President Barack Obama received a highly confidential CIA report containing evidence of Russian President Vladimir Putin's direct involvement in computer attacks to interfere in the US electoral process. Attacks that had the exact aim of hurting Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and favoring Republican rival Donald Trump. To deal with the issue, a long, exclusive article was the Washington Post, which tried to rethink those difficult weeks of the Obama administration, fought between the need to warn the Americans of danger and not to interfere in the electoral process.
The official communication on Russian interference was published on October 7, without the signature of President Obama and FBI Director James Comey, who decided at the last minute to remove his name from the press because the elections were too close. For several months, Obama has studied the best way to respond to Russian attacks. In December, after Trump's election, he decided to approve new sanctions against Russia and approved a secret plan to place 'digital bombs' ready to hit the Russian infrastructure. Also because of the divergences between Obama and Trump on the actions to be taken, it is unlikely that Moscow will face proportions in the attack, called the "crime of the century" in the political sphere of the Washington Post.
Only problem here is that Moscow's interference in US presidential elections has yet to be proved. My guess is that the leak came not from Russian hacking, but from Seth Rich who was angry that the DNC had favoured/rigged Hillary over Bernie and so leaked to Wiki Leaks through Kimdotcom. Kim has offered to testify to the Senate if they will guarantee safe passage.
