LEGO Dimensions + EV3: reading tags

The Dimensions Toy Pad has 3 pads. Each pad has a NFC reader and a RGB light that can be used more or less independently. Unfortunately the center pad has a plastic spacer that makes impossible to read Disney Infinity tags (at least the Darth Vader because it also has a plastic spacer) but works OK with common NFC tags.
