Digital Technology for Indians

Around Five years ago, we had a glimpse of western countries development and complained about India’s non-performing digital infrastructure. Today, however we can have a sigh of relief that we have come across all those hurdles and now some one can appreciate our progress. Now currently in India every state is competing with each other to become number 1. They are competing with each other to build a smarter city. We can take examples of Jharkhand, Odisha or Andhra, everyone is running for their own identification.
Digital India – A campaign lunched from prime minister Shri Narendra Modi, to ensure that the Indians must not feel difficulty to access the Govt. services. That’s why these services are available electronically by improved online infrastructure and improved internet connectivity. Though till now not all services are switched to digital mode, but still we can hope this situation will change definitely in near future. In this way, we can feel that our country is digitally empowered in the field of technology.
The vision of Digital India program, which we have seen is inclusive growth in areas like electronic products, services, job opportunities by making Indians workaholic, growth in the manufacturing sectors, etc. So all these parameters are centered on three key areas. i-) Using Digital infrastructure as a utility ii-) Governance & Services on demand and last but not the least, iii-) Empowerment of Digital technology among the Indian citizens.
Digital Infrastructure can be used as a utility like mobile phone and bank account participating in this digital media revolution as key parameters, use of High speed internet is becoming the path for this digital technology, individuals having easy access to every thing in digital world.
Governance & Services on demand means government services are now in digital platform rather than offline activities. Many utilities like Digilocker facility is on board and in next few days we can see much improve in other Govt. services. Already financial transactions are made cashless and that day is no longer when we can see a Sabziwalla doing cashless transaction in a local market of a rural area.
Digital empowerment of Citizens is nothing but availability of all digital resources universally. Its like all Govt. documents or certificates available on the cloud. All the people of india should be very much aware and should become knowledgeable about Digital technology .
The Government of India has lunched his much awaited Digital India program with a mission to transform India into a great digitally empowered country and economically knowledgeable.
Today, a situation has come like that everything is on-demand and its obvious that information technology also has to be re-imagined as digital transformation. All the possible situations now has to be viewed though digital looking glass. Now the question comes how it will be done & how fast?
Today, small to small jobs are being done through online platform, like booking of train tickets to LPG cylinders. Various important information like getting email from income tax department regarding due date for tax pending as well as getting information from Indian Govt. regarding Swachh Bharat Aviyan on facebook, etc. Currently based on the research only 34% of Indian population use internet, so you can imagine what will be the situation when the percentage reaches to 80% or more than that. Not only about internet usage, if we tell about innovation also, India has world’s most vibrant payments infrastructure.
So currently the matter is not what is Digital India, the matter is Who are the Digital Indians? Having more than 130cr of population in a country where more than 65% people are less than 35 yrs, we can expect a better Digital India in a near future. This is because making India Digital Ready is a concept which is already started but making this campaign a successful one is the job of we Indians.
