Multiple Digital Currencies

in #digital7 years ago

Bitcoin is not only a trendsetter, but also a real standard for digital currency. As Bitcoin prices soar to new levels, there are six other digital currencies that are not as famous as Bitcoin, but are taken into account by investors.

Here I summarize it from various sources:

  • Litecoin (LTC)
Litecoin, launched in 2011, is one of the first digital currencies after Bitcoin and is often called the 'silver version of Bitcoin' gold. Litecoin was created by Charlie Lee, an MIT graduate and former Google engineer.
Litecoin is based on a global open source payment network and is not controlled by any authority. Although in many ways Litecoin is the same as Bitcoin, it offers faster transaction confirmation. In addition to the developers, there are also a number of merchants who accept payments with Litecoin.

  • Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum was launched in 2015. Ethereum is a decentralized software platform that allows Smart Contracts and Distributed Applications to be built and run without downtime, fraud, control or interference from third parties.
Ethereum (ETH) has a market capitalization of USD 41.4 billion, second only to Bitcoin among all digital currencies.

  • Zcash (ZEC)
Zcash, the currency that was launched in late 2016, looks promising. Zcash claims to offer security and privacy where all transactions are recorded and published in blockchain (transaction logging technology), but other details such as sender, recipient, and number are kept confidential.

  • Dash
Dash, originally known as Darkcoin, offers more anonymity because it works on a mastercode network that makes transactions almost untraceable. Launched in January 2014, Dash experienced an increasing number of users in a short span of time.
In March 2015, 'Darkcoin' was renamed Dash, which stands for Digital Cash.

  • Ripple (XRP)
Ripple is a real-time global network that offers instant and inexpensive international payments. Released in 2012, Ripple has a market capitalization of USD 1.26 billion.

  • Monero (XMR)
Monero was launched in April 2014 and immediately attracted great interest among the cryptocurrency lovers community. The development of Monero, based on donations and community agreements.

That's 6 types of digital currencies besides Bitcoin.
Hopefully be additional information for friends all for those who do not know yet.
