One crypto that catches my eye is DigiByte, this crypto is undoubtedly better than BTC in many ways. It has multiple mining algorithms (Scrypt, SHA256, Quibit, Skein, Groestl), 3 of which are ASIC resistant, this allows for greater decentralization, because anybody with an average PC can contribute to mining by using one of these 3 algorithms. This reduces the chance of a 51% attack.

DigiByte has a block time of 15 seconds as opposed to bitcoins 10 minute block time. Transactions are fully confirmed after 1.5 minutes. Much more useful for real life purposes like buying something in a shop.

DGB has a total supply of 21 billion coins which will be mined in 21 years (19 years left). This is 1000 times more than BTC, so buying a cup of coffee wont be confusing decimals like 0.03, it could just be 30 Digibytes.

For my definition of best altcoin DigiByte gets it every time. There are other coins which serve different purposes. Some coins focus on anonymity, some focus on voting. The crypto world is getting real interesting.

Overall DigiByte has it for me, but do your research and invest wisely, don't put all your eggs in one basket
