Diabetic coma
In 1922, at the University of Toronto, scientists went to the hospital ward of diabetic children, most of whom were in a coma and dying from diabetic ketoacidosis. This fact is known as one of the most amazing moments in medicine. Imagine a room full of parents sitting by the bed waiting for the imminent death of their child. The scientists switched from bed to bed and injected the children with a new purified extract - insulin. When they started injecting a new dose into the last comatose child, the first child began to wake up. Then, one by one, all the children began to come to life after the diabetic coma. The room of death and darkness became a place of joy and hope.
