My husband got diabetes at the age of 8, still doing well 58 years later :) Looks better than many others his age, despite the hectic regime of pricking his finger 4-5 times a day to test his sugar levels, 5 injections per day (before each meal, at bedtime a long and quick acting insulin, quite hectic!) We generally follow a healthy way of eating. Not an easy disease to live with and does cause other health complications as you mentioned! Thank you for highlighting diabetes.
I got type one when I was 27. I'm right there with your hubby.
