Power Tools - My Fascination for Dewalt Power Tools
5-17-2017
... And They Say its Easy ... Sort of...
The prepper in me always sais to always be fast, less energy more work, you'll be above the curve. The picture above is my Dewalt portable drill. In my main article Escaping a War Economy is Survival, i mentioned i renovated a family members house in return to stay with them. I got many of the DeWalt Drills, and it got the job done fast before the monsoon season. Most carpenters here in south east asia use Hack Saws, Screw Drivers, Hammers ... not this guy, even though i had to use the hammer many time, the Drill always was the tool of choice.
This Article discusses power tools. When i fled to south east asia, i brought with me alot of my personal tools and equipment.
It was alot. We are talking about tools for computers, house repairs, and simple things to create start ups. The point is this, you have to think that the environment in wherever you go will experience what is known as entropy. Meaning things break down eventually, you'll have to maintain them somehow.
Power tools is the best way to go. Hiring a carpenter here is quite expensive in local currency and there is very few carpenters here in south east asia with the mindset of using good quality tools or have superior skills. So you have to find the balance of what you want a carpenter to do. In my case i found out that when it comes to what people call "POLISHING A TURD" like painting over a wall or building some kind of concrete structure i'll let them handle the grunt work. When it comes to wood or securing support beams through drills bolts etc, thats when i have to use my skill and do THAT WORK.
So in essence be mindful while you are out in south east asia building a house, unless you have a good contractor company its best to hire an architect who is reputable, see what you can do with your tools and decide where quality matters in the construction of whatever it is you are trying to build.
Power tools actually save you time and money. The reason why i bought DeWalt is because its a reputable brand. Its way better than ryobi but not as expensive as Hilti. Its the fine line between quality and price.
Be good to your tools and they will be with you whenever you need them
