ADDENDUM:
You blogged about the Kunsthistorische Museum before - now here is a tip for residents, but visitors as well: the years pass for the Kunsthistorische covers the Weltmuseum as well (and the Treasury among others), and if you are on a museum tour visiting just 3 of them, is pays to purchase a years pass!
Something else:
this location was used for the film The Three Musketeers (1993), and the stately entrance hall was the throne room of the king - (other locations in Austria were used also, like the Panhans Hotel Semmering). I was in Vienna on holidays just at that time and watching the filming on Heldenplatz.

Deine Fotos auf flickr aus dem Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria sind super! Das Museum scheint überhaupt ein Hit zu sein. So kommt bald eine Ausstellung über Ägypten zur Zeit der Pharaonen. Sollte es mich einmal in diese Ecke verschlagen, so steht das Museum ganz oben auf meiner Besichtigungsliste!
Danke, dass du noch einmal auf die Jahreskarte des Kunsthistorischen Museums hingewiesen hast, mit der um 44 Euro insgesamt sieben Museen (Kunsthistorisches Museum, Kaiserliche Schatzkammer, Kaiserliche Wagenburg, Weltmuseum mit Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer, Theatermuseum mit Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der bildenden Künste und Schloss Ambras in Innsbruck) besucht werden können.
Das war sicherlich sehr interessant, bei den Dreharbeiten mit internationaler Besetzung auf dem Heldenplatz mit dabei gewesen zu sein.
Danke, leider habe ich so ziemlich alle Fotos vor dem Jahr 2008 auf einem gekraschten Harddrive verloren. Einige Kleine konnte ich retten weil ich sie on-line eingestellt habe. Hatte ein großes Album voll - nur drei Bilder gefunden. Negative sind möglicherweise noch irgendwo in meinem Kanadischen Haus.
