A piece of wildflower meadow in a flower pot / Ein Stück Wildblumenwiese im Blumenkübel
At the beginning of the year I discovered a seed mixture for creating a wildflower meadow. The description promised dozens of flower varieties, which offer a varied appearance in the course of the summer.
Even though I don't own a garden, I bought the mixture to test how a piece of wildflower meadow makes itself in a flower pot. At the beginning of April I filled a flowerpot with soil and sown a small part of the mixture there. Already after a few days the first plants began to grow.
Now more than two months have passed and the first flowers are blooming. The petals of the flowers are much smaller than the ornamental flowers, which are typically planted in such tubs, but there is now more variety.
I'm curious to see what the next few months will bring. I also hope that many bumblebees, bees and butterflies will stop by.

Anfang des Jahres habe ich habe ich beim Einkauf eine Saatgutmischung zum Anlegen einer Wildblumenwiese entdeckt. Die Beschreibung versprach dutzende Blumensorten, welche im Verlauf des Sommers ein abwechslungsreiches Erscheinungsbild bieten.
Auch wenn ich keinen Garten besitze, habe ich die Mischung gekauft, um zu testen wie sich so ein Stück Wildblumenwiese in einem Blumenkübel macht. Anfang April habe dann einen Blumenkübel mit Erde gefüllt und einen kleinen Teil der Mischung dort eingesät. Bereits nach wenigen Tagen begannen die ersten Pflanzen zu wachsen.
Nun sind etwas mehr als zwei Monate vergangen und die ersten Blumen blühen. Die Blüten der Blumen sind zwar viel kleiner als bei den Zierblumen, welche man typischerweise in solche Kübel pflanzt, aber dafür gibt es nun mehr Abwechslung.
Ich bin mal gespannt, was da in den nächsten Monaten noch so alles blüht. Auch hoffe ich dass dort viele Hummeln, Bienen und Schmetterlinge vorbeischauen.

What a great idea! I will have to try that at some point. The mix of flowers is lovely. The Honey and Bumble bees will love that, not to mention Butterflies and Hummingbirds! :)
