Design a Character Contest - Week 4 - #SteemKitten
Hey Sketchers & Scribblers!
Here is my entry for this week's special edition of #designacharacter intiated by @w0olf in collaboration with @fraenk.
The object of this week was to design a chracter and persona for #steemkitten - a digital roaming cuddle-kitten that will upvote your content with love as well as beg for some attention of its own.

So without further ado, here are some poses and concepts for my #steemkitten entry! :)
I drew this one first and then only after taking my time realized that I needed to do poses too!
(I was quite annoyed at this point)
So I smashed these lil kittens out this afternoon:
I also only later realized that the kitten was meant to be female, and now looking at my sketches I realize they come off more masculine - aaaah well - hopefully he/she still comes off cute :)
Anyway, here is a little look at some work in progress shots - I honestly sometimes feel like the sketches always look better as scribbles in pencil - without colour, but then again they are more complete with lines and colour... I guess it gives them a certain theme and sense of life?

Oooh super cute!! I actually love that you show your progress photos too, for someone like me that can't draw at all it's really interesting to see how you build up the drawing from scratch.

Oh they're all there now lol not sure why only the code was coming up. All good. Love these little blue cats! Although the eyes look a bit evil haha really nice drawing though, you're good!
How did you get started with drawing btw?
Haha green greedy eyes filled with dreams of STEEMPOWER! haha, I was mostly re-inspired to start again after 7 years of not even putting pencil to paper by the awesome supportive and motivating art community on steemit!

I like the steem-logo-element in her cat eyes. Her eyes? Yeah, I see what you mean, but that doesn't make her less cute.

Yea, I was more annoyed with myself for not reading the instructions thoroughly, either way I totally enjoyed the process, learnt alot and had fun so that's what matters :)
I'm excited to see how the #steemkitten 's identity will grow! I'm also interested in how I can get cuddled by this lil critter?

All you have to do is cuddle (upvote) her at least once, she'll remember you from there on and will visit you from time to time.
If you upvote her more, you'll rise in her favor and she's more likely to cuddle you more often, a high self-voting quota (check steemreports.com to see yours) will make you lose her favor more quickly and she'll cuddle you less hard...
But that's a lot of explicit information that I will not make known too publicly and it's subject to change (she's still very young ;)). I guess it's a bit of "redistribution" mixed with "loyalty rewards" and "rewarding gratitude" if you want to put economic terms to it?! A bit of a social experiment and a great "discovery" toolfor myself.
As plankton or a small minnow (<2k SP) befriending her will likely be worth your vote :P

don't worry about voting on your own posts, that should be more than fine, just make sure you vote enough on other stuff too...
she won't cuddle a self-voted comment and she will cuddle the same friend at most once every 6hrs...
I just checked her logs - you've cuddled her once, she cuddled you twice so far. With 2482,667914 vs 2491,764914 cuddle-units, you are already in the green and still on rank #42 (hitchhikers guide anyone?) in her friend-ranking. You should see her drop by every now and then for a while still. The last time she checked, your generosity rating was 0.85 (15% self-votes measured)... purr-fect conditions i'd say!

any upvote you give her (comment or post) will increase your "friend-ranking" (which depletes over time but never goes to zero as you receive cuddles back from her, a single upvote and you'll technically be considered for cuddles-back eternally, the frequency will decrease though, albeit that's heavily randomized).
Following her does nothing atm. But that might be a criteria for other random visits by her at a later stage.
I gotta stop giving out all that insider information :P lol
