A house à la carte

With the Riko company, Philippe Starck develops a range of maison à la carte, at reasonable costs and above all, ecological. The first prototype is built in the Paris region.

We were aware of his claim to ecological design, and concretely discovered his commitment to sustainable architecture. With the Slovenian company Riko, Philippe Starck has developed a range of ecological, industrialized and modular houses, with the first prototype in the Paris region.

The concept called P.A.T.H. - for Prefabricated Accessible Technological Homes - has a dual objective: to allow access to property at more favorable costs through a high degree of control of production, while being part of an energy-saving approach. Thus, thanks to Riko's commitment to quality and a principle of prefabricated components, on the one hand, the square meter falls within a range between 2500
and 4500 € (foundations not included), on the other, with its solar roof, the construction is supposed to respect the positive energy standards, in other words avoid thermal losses (the estimate evokes one third of a standard consumption) . For the personal touch, several types of facades are available: glass or wood, the shape of the roof, and more broadly the layout of the house: level, two-storey, open to the outside, adjustable terrace with swimming pool ... A house à la carte that makes you dream on paper, which one expects to be assured of the real cost.
