Christophe Aubertin is one of the founders of Studiolada, a group of young architects based in the city center of Nancy. Studiolada seeks to be closer to the issues of respect and preservation of the environment by adapting as best as possible a sustainable approach in its projects, in agreement with its territory.

"This house project for a retired couple in Baccarat is a research on financial optimization through the rationality of design. The plan and the cut are based on an obsessional grid of 1m x 1m: 9m x 9m on the ground floor and 9m x 4m on the floor. The living area is 117 m2.

The volume is studied for optimal compactness: each m2 and each m3 are calibrated to offer the best ratio between functionality and quality of space / volume to be heated. The south facade is fully glazed (protected by a pergola to be planted), and the north facade completely blind
The placo does not exist. It is replaced by spruce wood panels. The inertia is reinforced by the screed and concrete sails embedded in the internal beam column structure. The envelope is insulated in quantity and from healthy materials: cellulose wadding and wood fiber board. A double flow VMC at the heart of the small volume makes it possible to ventilate all the parts very simply. The heating is provided by a wood pellet stove in central position. "
