Unlocking the secrets to happiness with a simple step

What pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to know. A scientifically proven method to reduce depression!

We all know that people living in so called “developed” countries seem to be less happy then people in “less developed” ones, why is that?
This article/theory might help shed some light in to this paradox.

Every one is different, but there are some integral aspects of our human nature that are essential for achieving a base line level of happiness that we can build on to be happier.

  • Eating
  • Drinking and do on

Fulfilling our basic natural survival needs leads to our bodies rewarding us for these important activities.

Here comes my killer insight

All of the for mentioned activities require walking!

In our natural setting as a species we had to walk barefooted to achieve any of our survival goals.

A foot massage feels good for a reason!

Our bodies start to reward us for each step we take towards our intended goal.

When we take a step the stimulus is recognised by the brain by releasing small amounts of endorphins which build up throughout our day.

Bare in mind we used to walk bare foot as most people do in “less developed” countries
Or shall I say less domesticated countries but let’s leave the consequences of human domestication for another article.

And don’t forget the we also needed to walk even further to get water.

All of these steps used to contribute towards the required daily base-line level of endorphins the human body requires.

Since the process of human self domestication in “developed” countries has progressed, we hardly need to move a few steps to the fridge to obtain our food.
As a result we don’t release our basic expected daily amount of rewards/endorphins and we compensate with other means.

Is retail therapy just walking around for miles ?

Could this deficit also contribute to the high levels of obesity we see in so called “developed countries”?

And what are the other inevitable consequences of living in a more domesticated country?

Let me know in the comments!

Walking more is not the only or main way to happiness, but it is commonly neglected as an aspect of our natural toolbox
to be happier.

It’s worth mentioning it’s natural to be unhappy sometimes.

In fact it all our emotions are integral to our survival.

And some people have underlying medical conditions like clinical depression which do need professional attention.

And how this contributes towards our unhappiness.
