A million thoughts, all at once

I want to change the world. I want to leave my mark on it, dent in the Universe. I want to burn so bright the coroner will only have ash to work with. I want to move mountains. I will carve out a notch with my existence.

I'm sure there are billions that want to change the world. They may only think in a micro level of change; a local, or even household level of change. I'd like to make a change on a national (and possibly global) level.

The planet is full of governing bodies. The people vote in their chosen representative bodies. Guess what comes with them? In the case of the United States, like an itchy rash (after a fun night with a shady bar fly) come the bureaucrats. Millions of them. Every crony you elected brings in piles of their yes men. You've not only elected your five hundred thirty six that you're capable of voting for, but they all have pet monkeys. The Executive Office has it's chamber of fools (and they their gimps), as well as a plethora agencies with acronyms. They all have their cronies. I don't think it's remotely possible to get a head count on all of these savages.

Now, the more of them, the less freedom you have. There are more people to legislate. There are more people to audit your movements, your doings, your misgivings. There's always a welfare whore looking over your shoulder. Every one of them is a leech, a parasite. They produce nothing, and siphon off a large chunk for doing not a damned thing.

How am I going to change all of this? I honestly don't know at this point.

I've been reading Konkin and the Vonu book. Both of those are making me want to live in the shadows; handle all of my business outside of the threat of coercion. I'd love to. The issue is, I am trying to co-parent a six year old with my ex wife. I've stayed this close for the past three years to spend all the time I can with my child. Though living in a camper (or polyethylene tent) in a forest sounds insanely awesome, it just isn't feasible for the time being. Maybe I'll just stick closer to the Agorist principals of Konkin.

Transitioning to an Agorist lifestyle has it's hurdles, as well. I currently live in an apartment (with a lease) in a small town. I have a full time job, which pays enough to cover food and the small amount of bills I have. All told, I probably have around 1,000 dollars in expenses (that aren't food). I really want to make this a possibility.
