GETTING MORE VALUE FOR YOUR STEEMIT POST - 3 | THE FULL CONCEPT OF STEEM POWER DELEGATION

Hope you all having an amazing day, still on the series of getting more value for your steemit post, today we will be talking about the concept of DELEGATION

i guess we all see this on our wallet panel in the steemit platform, sometimes as a newbie, we see in the section there stating:

part of your steem power is currently delegated. delegation is donated for influence.... blah blah blah.

And wonder whats its usefulness or why its there, or maybe we dont until few weeks/days later we stop seeing it there and start wondering, WTF did you go, or what happened, has my account been hacked???

lol, so many thought run through our head and sometimes we even start checking our previous transactions to see if anyone took it from our wallet, hahahahahha, i guess some of you experienced this as well.

SO WHAT IS DELEGATION ???

Wikipedia states;

Delegation is the assignment of any responsibility or authority to another person to carry out specific activities. It is one of the core concepts of management leadership.

Taking that definition into consideration here on steemit we can say;

Delegation can be seen as the act of lending your steem power to another user whom you see fit and trustworthy enough to carry out curation activities(flagging/downvoting , upvoting of post or comments) and inturn receive the benefits attached to the rewards of curation.

Next thought that should pop in our mind should be, WHY DELEGATE MY STEEM POWER??

People delegate steem power for several reasons known to them;

1. GIFTS: Some users can decide to delegate some amount of their steem powers to friends as a form of a gift, to help the user/friend receive more reward value for their curation activities.

2. PROMOTE GOOD CONTENT: Users may also delegate steem powers to authors and curators whom they see trustworthy enough to make good curation of quality content and inturn promote quality content of other writers and authors in the steemit community.

3. HELP NEWBIES: Well some newbies get lucky and find favour from other users who may see them helpful to the community(this is one of the reasons why your introduction post must be well organised and relevant), also the steem inc delegates a certain amount of SP to all newbies to help them get more curation reward for a start and also make them a bit influential to the community.

4. AS A FORM OF INVESTMENT: Delegation can be used in the steemit community as a form of investment through the use of bots. An investor, not having the time to go through post and upvote daily may decide to delegate his steem power to bots which provides a very transparent and simple method to get an automatic daily curation reward payouts.

Basically there are two major benefits the delegates gets, either in Kind or in Cash

1. In Kind: When you delegate to other authors or curators as a form of gift or to promote good content, you only get gratitude for helping the community, the curation reward goes to the author or the delegatee whom you delegated upon.

2. In Cash: Its no news that 70% of the members of the steemit community are here for the dough, even if they shy from the truth, to get rewards in cash you need to delegate your steem power to bots which does promotions, this way you get the value of the daily upvotes being used by the bot in respect to the amount delegated,most bot helps you calculate this and also its automated so you are 100% guaranteed and the whole process happens on the steem blockchain which makes it fully transparent.

Can the people who delegate steem power decide the duration of lending???

YES!!!! you can decide how long your delegated SP lasts, the delegator can decide to take back his steem power at any point in time from the delegates, however it would take about seven (7) days later before the delegator can receive full rewards from his recently withdrawn delegated Steem Power.

Note as well, during the time a delegator delegates his steem power he/she cannot power down his or are delegated SP, until it has been fully recovered(after 7days) however a delegator may decide to delegate some amounts of his steem power and keep the remaining part if need be for withdrawal.

however you dont just throw your steem power to any bot, take your time to check about the quality and standard of the bot, check top authors and find out the bots most commonly used and lastly the most transparent and easiest to use, no one loves too much complexity.

This is the method i choose to use and i think works, keep in mind its my method if it doesnt work for you which is impossible then find what best works for you.

1. Purchase or Buy some steem power, most bot allows only min 50SP before you can delegate.

2. Delegate your steem power to any of the bots above.
   Note: Delegated steem power are still yours and can be gotten back at any point in time

3. Via delegation you earn a passive income from the steem network which inturns increase your current balances both in SBD, STEEM and SP.

4. Allow your account grow and possibly reinvest in the system when the market value of steem is affordable.

5. Re-delegate or increase your delegated steem power, not necessarily has to be all to enable you curate your readers comment and posts as well.
   Remember as said in the previous article, more people follow you when they know you have good curation value.

6. In few months your account balance and steem power would have grown to a very large amount, you may then decide to fully retain all steem power and choose to effectively use this yourselves and curate quality contents. Its never advisable to only curate your post, dont be selfish share the love and the money.
