DeepOnion: talking about Tor Network

in #deeponion7 years ago

Hello everyone and welcome,

in today's article I would like to spend some words on how the TOR network works.

TOR is one of the main features of DeepOnion and therefore I believe that understanding how it works could be very beneficial (to me at least).

When we talk about "anonymity", we often hear about proxies, VPN and other tools designed to guarantee the most complete privacy.

In this respect, the TOR network is certainly a great example. It stands for The Onion Router (Onion ... Tor, ... DeepOnion ... DeepWeb ... remember anything?) and that better describe the protocol at the core of its functions.

The entire TOR network relies on the TOR Relay, the GPU (computer bandwidth) of those who take part in the decentralized network...

The more TOR Relay (imagine them as mini-servers, just to give you an idea) there are, the more the TOR network is fast. Interesting to know that the TOR network works almost on any operating system.

Anyone installing TOR can become a Relay (decentralization has long been pursued).
"Or, more specifically, either a non-exit or exit relay" cit .; the difference lies in declaring one's will to be an exit node from the TOR network for a client that uses TOR (hence the web service to which requests are addressed will see the IP of the exit relay node) or a non-exit relay , a simple Onion router that allows data to be passed from the previous node to the next node within the network.

Obviously the main features of TOR are: privacy, integrity control and server directories; all features kept in perfect balance with anonymity, usability and efficiency.

"What clients do is to choose a path in the network by constructing a" network "in which each node (onion router) only knows the previous and subsequent node" cit., and not the other nodes used for that communication.

The security that this system provides (or should provide) is great. DeepOnion uses and exploits this network, which is improved and updated more and more by the development team.

I hope I have clarified some doubts on how the TOR network works (I am not an IT specialist and I have tried to summarize the main concepts).

If anyone would like to contribute or add something to this article I would appreciate.

See you next time.

I bought DeepOnion when it was worth 17 dollars. Do you think it will ever recover?

I believe, and I hope, yes. Maybe after the end of the airdrop there will be a small drop, but I am confident about the future of the coin DeepOnion
