What Is DeepOnion & Why You Should Be Holding It
There's no doubt that if you're somewhat familiar with the cryptocurrency scene that you've heard of DeepOnion. DeepOnion is a fantastic coin with a community. In this article I will go over a few reasons (in my opinion) why you should have it in your portfolio.
What is DeepOnion?: Nothing explains this better than their fantastic whitepaper however we will go over a a few key points.
- DeepOnion is an X13 POW/POS Hybrid Coin.
- Low Supply, max 25 Million coins
- Operates over TOR network to maximize privacy.
- Hidden addresses allow complete transaction anonymity.
- DeepVault system which verifies file integrity, searching for changes.
- Extremely active dev team.
- Dedicated and growing community dedicated to the project.
- Weekly airdrops.
- Constant bounty and contests.
To break things down a little further. Let's go over usage and advantages.
The Coin: Extremely fast transactions and low fees. With DeepOnion, there is no hours of waiting for your transfer. Sending 150 Onion will cost you just .001 Onion.
Privacy: The TOR network works by routing your activity through multiple/random nodes before reaching your destination. The end result is it's extremely difficult to trace it back to you. Onion uses this same system but your wallet acts as the node. This allows all of your transactions to remain private and anonymous. The Dev team took this one step further and added Meek which is the protocol to extend this privacy to Chinese (TOR Blocked) investors. To fully understand this, this link for Tor and the Github for Meek explains in more detail.
Price: DeepOnion has seen tons of growth since it's launch back in July 2017. In it's relatively short time, the price has gone from .11 cents all the way to an ATH of $19.XX. With the market correction that drove down all coins, you can pick up Onion at a steal of a price around $4.xx at the time of writing this. If any time is a good time to get in, it's now.
Community: You can't talk about DeepOnion without discussing the community. Long story short, it's incredible. Everyone has one objective in mind, to help the project. You will see constant, thorough conversation regarding the project and it's future. The members are never shy/rude when explaining to the new users. This is a community you can join and not feel like an outsider. You can discuss tech, pitch ideas, share memes (the best memes) and sell on the marketplace. With a wide range of local language forums, this community expands worldwide. The overall feeling of comradery is strong and that's exactly how it should be.
Free Onion: Yes, free coin, and a bunch of it too. Reach Jr. member on BitcoinTalk and hold minimum 50 Onion to participate in weekly airdrop. You can also participate in bounty and contests such as Meme/Article/Video/Wallpaper of the week. If you dedicate some real time and contribute to the project, you will get free coin one way or another. You're most likely making memes anyway, why not earn some Onion?
Overall, this project is solid. Call it shilling, call it bias, that's fine. I'm involved in many communities and none of them feel this "warm and fuzzy". You just need to check it out and you will understand exactly what I'm talking about. What I'm covering here isn't even the tip of the iceberg. Get involved, register on the forums and see for yourself. It's just a good time and a great boost to your portfolio.
