Feminist spiritual successor to Lord of the Rings
Bought this the day after the international women's day but had to finish the Traitor Baru Cormorant before I got around to this. Been spending the last few days reading through Sandman as well, by Neil Gaiman which I have thoroughly enjoyed and got inspired to read it as I am undertaking his masterclass on storytelling.
Released in february this year, The Priory of the Orange Tree has already gotten many stellar reviews and I personally really enjoy feminist literature in fantasy and science fiction. It's hailed as a feminist spiritual successor to the Lord of the Rings which sets a pretty high bar to most people.
Excited to dive into this massive 800+ page book, book number 13 in my reading challenge this year!
