Debunked: Hitlers escape

in #debunked7 years ago

I am a big fan of conspiracy theories though I am not a big believer in them, really I just find it interesting to see the ideas people come up with and how they rationalize things. There are a lot of theories you can tell straight of that bat are just fiction but then there are some that are hard to disprove or prove and a small portion that turn out to be true. I am going to be posting a series of blogs discussing a range of theories and sharing my opinion on them.

What happened in that bunker:

Many people and organizations have theorized over the years that Hitler could have escaped Germany at the end of the war and traveled to south america, rather than the story we are told of him committing suicide in his bunker in 1945. There is a lot of unknown areas around this subject because Hitlers body was never recovered. It was originally thought that after Hitler committed suicide his body was burned only leaving parts of his skull that was recovered by soviet soldiers, however in 2009 Americans tested the skull and it was found to be that of a woman under the age of 40.

This means Hitlers remains were never found which you would assume means he did not die in that bunker. Also the only people that were eye witnesses to what happened in the bunker were high ranking Nazi officers, the closest supporters of Hitler can not be relied upon to honestly say whether their leader was dead or alive because their primary aim would be to keep their leader safe.

All of this just shows that we really don't know anything that happened in that bunker, we also know that Hitler could have escaped from the bunker because the bunker had many escape routes and I believe 4 escape tunnels that connected to Berlins wider tunnel systems, then as soon as he was out of the bunker he had the entire resources of Germany allowing him to escape the country. It would also be near impossible to to predict how he would escape the country as Germany is heavily landlocked so he could have traveled to any eight of these countries immediately or taken a plane or boat to any destination.

So it seems that Hitler likely did not die in that bunker and there are many plausible ways he could have escaped the country after emerging from the bunker.

Why south america?

There are a few strong reasons for why people assume Hitler escaped to south america, firstly is that the majority of south american countries where not involved in WW2 which means it would be easier for Germans to flee to these countries because they would be less likely to be recognized and hunted. Many south american countries are also covered by dense jungle which would be the ideal hiding place for the most wanted person in the world. A dense jungle would not only give cover to hide people but also buildings and plans.

Many other high ranking Nazi officers also escaped to south american countries and successfully hid for the remainder of their lives, some of whom even having children which can be proven by some areas of south america still having small German populations. If less powerful people were able to escape and avoid being prosecuted or killed you would assume Hitler could have also escaped and found somewhere to hide out for the remainder of his life.

This is something that may always remain as a mystery because all eyewitnesses where to fiercely loyal to their leader to ever truthfully say what happened, so you can't hold to much value to any of their statements and anyone that could share any light on what happened in Germany during 1945 would have passed away. There are also some people in south america who claim to have seen Hitler arrive though there is know way of telling what they actually saw or even who they saw.

My theory:

For once this is a theory I believe to be true because there is know evidence fundamentally showing that Hitler died in his bunker. I think he did escape Germany and flee to south america alongside various other high ranking Nazi officials and their families, however I think he would have died shortly after leaving Germany either because of his existing ailments, his drug addictions or by being killed. I see any of these being as likely as each other as Hitler was depicted as being very ill toward the end of the war and he was thought to have been using drugs for many years which I'm sure only worsened his ailments. I also don't think it is far fetched to say he was killed soon after as he was being looked for by many world governments that we know of and probably some we don't know. Also even if a local person to wherever he escaped found him they would have likely alerted other locals and killed him as most people would if they found Hitler. However I think it just as likely that he was killed by one of his own men probably because they became sick of looking after and being controlled by someone who was clearly insane.

There is a lot of interesting information surrounding this area including the TV show Hunting Hitler that looks at real evidence of governments searching for Hitler and them exploring areas that Nazis escaped to, so there really is a lot more information out there on this topic. It's a depressing thought that the biggest scumbag in history got away with it.

Cg

It is truly sad that he got away with it and that countries did not put more effort into confirming the situation.
