Alarming 2017 Student Loan Debt Numbers

It blows my mind how the system feeds these overpriced universities and turn our kids into debt slaves. Right now in my daughter's high school they are just pushing and pushing to get her to look into college. They don't even try to tell her about all the other professions she can possibly get into that require zero college just community courses or a trade's training center for far less money it would cost to attend a prestigious university. Why do they continue to do this knowing most of these kids will be in debt for years to come if they can even pay the loan back! I wonder if they tell them that they can never get social security unless the loan is paid off or that they can never file for bankruptcy. College was a sure thing to do many years ago when their was an abundance of opportunities in the market but not so today. Just look at where these college kids end up after they graduate. Many of them end up working in the restaurant business or retail because they can't find any jobs in their field of study. If you ask me this is an epidemic and catastrophic to their future and ours. Something needs to change, we need to rethink how we school our young ones and stop feeding the universities with their overpriced garbage. Just look at this article and see the numbers for yourself.
