A defense of death

Every now and then the deathpenalty comes into focus.
Most people seem to oppose it.
As do I. However, i also oppose the idea that the state should have any control over the continuation or end of your life.
Yet, if you are sentenced to prison, they will try to prevent any attempts of suicide, in fact the state might imprison you just becouse they fear you might plan to commit suicide.
I see imprisonment as the worst possible crime, at least with anything else (as long as you arent also imprisoned) you can just end it at any point.
This will likely also raise the level at which any unsuspended prison sentence would be issued, which id see as a likely positive sideffect.
