Silenced and suppressed

Subjected to cruel treatments

Deprived and robbed of all virtues

Living daily in pain and anguish

These torments and trials

May seem unending

Subjugated in a man's world Dominated by a stronger gender Living like a nowheresville Hindered and shattered Your opinions disregarded and shrugged off Your presence greeted with indifference and apathy Doesn't mean you have no place in this world.

Dear girl child,

From birth you will be seen as weak

One who will lack self will and say

Patriachial domination from birth to marriage

Obedience and submissiveness your lot

But in spite of it all you have to stand out

Adorned and arrayed in grace

To live above all your limitations.

Dear girl child,

Garnish and Gussy up your scars

Grow and soar above your limitations

Reject and decline your anguish and pains

Build and gain boldness in the face of trials

Fight against your weak heart and chicken liver

That even though it's a man's world

Your voice,strength,weakness and importance will be respected and recognised.
