Happy thanksgiving to everyone! Some thoughts about feeling thankful..

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here..

Neither did we celebrate it in Holland. So every year when it's the end of the year, I probably miss this day until I read about it. Today it came to my attention because of a comment @nuthman left on my review post from yesterday, mentioning the holidays.. I didn't really have much time today to think about all the things that I'm thankful for honestly, another fever in the house kept us busy. Thankfully (there's the first one haha), boyfriend is home this week so we could split the tasks today.

Browsing through pictures from 2018

The colder weather is arriving here, and it makes me long for softer temperatures instantly. And one year ago we left to Malta around this time of year for a short family getaway. The picture above is made at the airport. While leaving Budapest in the cold (like winter coat cold lol), we arrived at Malta having to take off our coat right away, because it was 21 degrees. Now that's what makes us happy during winter!

The Malta trip was only 3 days but filled with memories

I'm thankful for the memories we got to make there last year, and looking back at the pictures always brings a smile to my face. The trip could have lasted a bit longer for me preferably, but even in these 3 days we had such a nice time.

We laughed our butts off when we discovered that the cars drive on the left side of the road (meaning you also sit on the other side of the car haha), how could we not know this? The complete trip to our hotel (lasting for a full 30 minutes about as big as Malta in total haha) I was constantly afraid that we'd get an accident. I apologize for my stressy behaviour @kymaticus :) next time I will just close my eyes to not freak you out.. lol...

Things have changed this year

Although 2018 we had some more time abroad, while this year we stayed in Hungary during the holidays we had, this year we made so much new memories in Budapest as a family. Until about 6 months ago I actually wasn't really happy living here, and was very focussed on the next opportunity that would get us out of here, this has totally changed. I started to embrace the beauty of Budapest and all the cool things the city offers. Instead of focussing on the cold winter making me depressed, I focus on what can brighten up my mood and this is working out pretty well. I'm so thankful for the neverending support from my boyfriend @kymaticus, making me feel confident to start working on my ideas and make them happen.

This year I'm more aware and therefore more thankful

I'm more and more aware of the fact how lucky I am with my partner, and that I should not take his support for granted. Things are going smoother and smoother on every level in our life, and we both feel that next year is going to be an even better one. So much great things to look back to from last year, which I will save for another post, now I just want to say THANKS to those that have been in my life recently, and those that have made a difference in my life. May it be online or in real life, if you matter to me, you probably know!

I will try to be even more aware and thankful from now on as there is still so much in my life that I take for granted without even realizing that it's there. I thank my boyfriend for his endless patience during the years as well, for trying to make me aware of things that I didn't really see clearly.
