What is the Daylight Saving Time:

Daylight saving time is a time adjustment system , making the clock advance so that the best light from the sun is used instead of the light bulbs.

Daylight saving time is characterized by the advance of the clock in 1 hour.

This system was invented by the American Benjamin Franklin in 1784, which was intended to save on the use of candles in the house, advancing the time in the clocks.

However, it was only during World War I, between 1914 and 1918, that daylight saving time was definitively established in Europe and then in several other countries around the world.

Currently, the idea of daylight saving time is to make the most of daylight and save on the use of electricity with bulbs , especially during so-called "peak hours" (usually from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.)

But, the way summer time is applied depends on country to country. In Brazil, for example, it is enough to advance the clock in one hour to obtain good results. However, there are regions that need an advance of up to two hours, and in others the time has to be decreased, depending a lot on the needs of each country.

Daylight saving time coincides with the summer solstice phenomenon , the time of year when one of Earth's hemispheres is receiving sunlight for longer.

Thus, the days become longer and people have the opportunity to enjoy more of the light of day.
