A new project!
That's what I understood in general, I'm on that since yesterday!
Datum! Database running on the Ethereum Blockchain
It relies on the intelligent DAT tokens contract to provide a secure transaction of data while respecting the terms defined by the owners of this data ...
Its technology allows anyone to save structured data like data from social networks, data from laptops ...
Datum provides a market where users can share or sell data on their own terms.

We asked a few questions about Roger Heanin, the founder of Datum and here are his answers:
Datum is focused on user (e.g. social, health etc.) and device generated data (internet of things) whereas enigma focuses on financial data. Datum is built on top of Ethereum and BigchainDB, which are both relatively mature. Whereas Enigma is a replacement for Ethereum and is building everything from scratch. Having said that, we are pretty confident that time to market is much quicker for Datum. There are also other projects like EOS which have similar characteristics (e.g. secret sharing over blockchain, in EOS called "Permissions") and are also aiming to become the next Ethereum by saying that they will add various features that Ethereum doesn't currently have (like "secret sharing over blockchain") .
With Datum we are taking a pragmatic approach, something that can be built right now, in fact all the building blocks are in place and we are confident time to market wise Datum will beat out "from scratch" networks like Enigma, just look at Ethereum, it took them almost 2 years to get off the ground, from first commit on Dec 24 2013 til finally the first Ethereum block was mined on July 30th 2015
Even with the money that EOS and others have raised, there is absolutely no good reason why they can massively speed up the time it takes to build a cryptocurrency from scratch with enhanced features that are not simply copied from other coins
And in fact after Ethereum launched, there were many problems, including the famous DAO Hack, its normal, new stuff will have bugs and needs time to reach a stable point
