The Dark Web & 10 Things You Need To Know:
The Dark Web & 10 Things You Didn't Know:
The internet is not as simple as it looks like. The internet you use is just the surface. Do you know what exists below? The Dark Web. Here are 10 things you need to know about it:
1. It Exists:
There are 2 parts of the Internet. Clearnet and Deepnet. Clearnet is what you regularly use. And other databases, files and stuff you can't access is called the DEEPNET. Now there is an intentionally hidden part of the deepnet called the DARKWEB. And it does exist.
2. It's easy to access:
The dark web websites come in .onion domains. EX- www.google.onion. However, instead of something understandable these websites have some gibberish names. Such as: tghwrhwrh.onion. Now you can't access these sites with your regular browsers. But there is a browser called TOR Browser, through which you can browse these sites. However, without properly hiding your self you shouldn't access it. ( See Point 7 )
3. It's mostly used by criminals:
The darkweb is a heaven for criminals. You can find Real rape, Child porn, Drugs, Hackers for hire, Pirated and hacked softwares, Guns, Cracked Credit Cards, Gore Videos, Hacked Paypals, Human skin bags etc.
The reason for this is that its tough to track anyone using the Dark Web. However, you will often find websites changing their domains often to prevent anyone from finding out their real location.
4. Surfing it isn't illegal:
If you steer clear of illegal materials you can access the dark web without going to jail. Accessing the dark web itself isn't illegal. However, don't do anything illegal and don't surf illegal websites.
5. You need to be careful while surfing it:
There are 2 reasons for this. Hackers and the Government. If you don't properly hide your presence on the dark web; Youre gonna be sorry.
6. All of it isn't bad:
A whistleblower (also written as whistle-blower or whistle blower)[1] is a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public.[2] The information of alleged wrongdoing can be classified in many ways: violation of company policy/rules, law, regulation, or threat to public interest/national security, as well as fraud, and corruption.[3] Those who become whistleblowers can choose to bring information or allegations to surface either internally or externally. Internally, a whistleblower can bring his/her accusations to the attention of other people within the accused organization such as an immediate supervisor. Externally, a whistleblower can bring allegations to light by contacting a third party outside of an accused organization such as the media, government, law enforcement, or those who are concerned. Whistleblowers, however, take the risk of facing stiff reprisal and retaliation from those who are accused or alleged of wrongdoing.
