republic day is a national festival of india which is celebrated every year on 26 january. on this day in 1950 , the constitution of india was implemented by removing the government of india act (1935). to become an independent republic and establish the rule of law in the country, the constitution was adopted by the constituent assembly of india on 26 noveber 1949 and it was implemented with a democratic government system on a 26 january 1950 . 26 january was chosen beacause the indian national congress was on this day in 1930. (inc) had declared india as purna swaraj. it is one of the three national holidays of india, the other two being independence day and ghandhi jayanti.
