Hippie. Fifth day with us
Yes, I called him Hippie. Yesterday, he finally got out of the carrying box... Of course, I could get him out before, but I did not want to frighten him. When he came out, I literally stopped breathing. A new large cage was already nearby, and he had come there to enjoy hay.
It seemed to me that I was flying through the air! Trying not to make a single sound, I intimately came the carrying box and closed it. I just needed to remove it and clean it, because the rabbit spent five days in it! A little more and I would be forced to get him out of there, but, fortunately, it all worked out as well as possible.
Honestly, I do not know why he refused to leave earlier. He was obviously not afraid of me. If I stretched my hand to him, he would come closer and sniff it. I think he did not like the smells in the room. He probably smelled dogs and that scared him, although I didn’t let them into the room.
Hippie also met cat Katya yesterday. Katya always meets new animals. She is the real commandant of our shelter. She is friendly with all the newbies and I think she explains the shelter rules to them. For many years this cat surprises me with her ability to find a common language with any animal. The rest of the animals adore her.
Glad to see Hippy adjusting. Give Katya an extra treat :-)
