Miss Foodie #023 - Homecooked food
When I was young, I always thought what is it like to have freedom, to grow up, live independently, and to cook for myself.
Of course, I always wonder how good it is to not have someone nagging me, telling me when to eat, when to shower, what time to be home and all.
Finall I hit 20, and I went to college. Graduated. Work elsewhere. And I finally realised haha
That cooking is ain’t easy.
I always enjoy watching my aunt cooking for us. I would follow her to the kitchen, and just observing her how she prep the ingredients, I wanted to be her lil assistant very badly.
Well of course she said, I would bring trouble and just asked me to stay away from the fire. Haha
But I wouldn’t listen.
Well one thing for sure, she makes cooking look easy and effortless.
I guess I have took her for granted.
And after college only then I realised cooking is not an easy job!
Through all these years away from home, what I miss the most is still homecooked food.
Grateful that during cny, I get to dig in as much as I want!
Who would have knew a few dishes like this took like 3 hours to cook?! I would have taken a day to cook this babies out.
Definitely a feast for the family!
This is no homecooked food, however dim sum is in our family blood. A necessity. An essential for the morning soul. Haha
I was back for like 6 days, and I literally had fish every single day.
My parents know I have a thing for fish.
They also know it’s kinda hard to get cheap and fresh fresh-water fish in Penang.
So they feed me fish everyday.
I think I can have fish 365 days. Not kidding. Haha nothing beats KK’s fish!!
good for you that you know how to cook, back during my uni years and living alone, my main food are maggi and sometimes bread that i sprinkle with a little black pepper
bread with black pepper??? oh dear, how does it taste? haha!!!
my college friends have a weird recipe too, oat with ketchup! XD
bread with black pepper turns out surprisingly good, well maybe just because i like how black pepper taste.. but oat with ketchup..??
yea i know right!!! I cringe too when I heard my friend eating that. haha
Haha!! Same.. my dad even bought a freezer just to store all the catches he purchased from his friend.
haha your dad loves fishing? haha so coollll
u think you eat fish everyday too :P
Nah.. his friend is pemborong ikan. So dad always goes to his warehouse or wherever it is and pick up from him. Yeah almost everyday eat fishes, steamboat also fish.
haha fishy is good!! source of protein! :)
i rmb last time after I did a surgery, I cannot have meat or really solid food for 100 days,
but only porridge or vege or fish.
fish porridge became like my best friend then.
so proves fish is kinda harmless and non-toxic. even sick people take them.
