I've not seen many sun halos in the UK but I saw quite a few when I was in Florida a couple of years ago. You definately seem to get it worse in the USA than we do in the UK.
It's definately a sign of something. Either Jesus is coming or we're being slowly killed off by the shit they are spraying that causes a halo to form around the sun.
Considering that Jesus' return is supposed to coincide with the end of days I'm not sure which option I prefer right now ;-)
If sweet baby Jesus is coming, what the hell is he waiting for? For his nails to dry? Or does Bibi have to set the world on fire first before it is convenient for the "Savior" to show up?
