STEWARDSHIP AND SKILLFULNESS (1)

Text: 1 Sam. 18: 5, 14. 30
Memory Verse: “Only Luke is with me. Take Mark with thee, for he is profitable to me for the ministry” (2 Tim. 4:11).

Among the virtues that gave David an extraordinary placement in his stewardship under King Saul was skillfulness. Skillfulness is a combination of several virtues which notably include prudence in handling matters, expertise in solving problems, soundness of utterance and a wise behavior. It defines your degree of usefulness.
When you are serving as a steward in the kingdom, developing skills is paramount and this will determine your placement and eventual position even as a steward. In some churches, you see some departmental members who have been in those places for years without developing anything new. You don’t know it all. Be open and eager to learn new things. Learn what will advance your department, the church, your career and your place of employment. In so doing, your life will be enhanced as well.

Food for Thought
A skillful steward cannot be ignored.
Prayer
Lord, grant me the patience to learn and be skillful.
