Top Crptocurrencies to Invest in Now

Right now besides the majors (BTC and ETH), I see Ripple, OMG, PAY, and POWR as the top projects/currencies with the most upside and application long term. I am also bullish on NEM, EOS, NEO, and LISK although I will discuss those on a later post.

Ripple (XRP)

Ripple’s utility in the banking sector is ground breaking and they have already garnered the support of various accredited financial institutions.

As far as hedging your bet goes on the total decentralization of all currency and complete eradication of the current financial institutions by the hand of decentralized currencies like BTC, I believe that ripple is a fantastic alternative.

Ripple works with financial institutions to improve the underlying infrastructure from the bottom up. It does so by allowing banks to send currency to each other using their decentralized token XRP without an intermediate entity that could delay transactions and increase fees.

Omise Go (OMG)

OMG includes a decentralized exchange built on the ethereum blockchain that allows users to transfer value between parties without use of a central body. They have a very strong development and management team along with major partnerships and institutional support.

OMG is the first cryptocurrency to partner with a major fast food chain (McDonald’s) which could lead to explosive growth once other fast food chains begin to adopt cryptocurrencies into their payment systems. They are also in talks regarding a potential partnership with google. I see a very bright future for this currency.

TenX (PAY)

TenX seems to have relatively similar applications to OMG although it allows you to spend any cryptocurrency you want using a TenX card while converting to fiat currency in real time.

PAY transaction fees are low and are paid out to token holders in the form of dividends, incentivizing additional staking of the currency. This overall system is applicable to everyday life and as a result there is huge potential for growth in this currency as it becomes more widely adopted.

Power Ledger (POWR)

Power ledger uses blockchain technology to allow peer to peer trading of excess solar and renewable energy between individual homes and facilities.

The project has garnered support from the Australian government as well as funding for proof of concept trials and has checked every box with flying colors so far. The market cap of the currency has been rising rapidly, especially since it was recently listed on Bittrex, and the price has almost doubled within the last few days.

Although there is still much to be determined with this currency, it could truly revolutionize the energy sector by offering green solutions to prominent energy distribution problems, making it an extremely valuable asset to hold.
