Could Crowd Sourced Threat Intelligence be Cryptos’ security solution?
We have all heard of crypto scams ranging from projects that didn’t pay promised returns which is a red flag in its self since no one can guarantee returns, to data breaches and all sorts of hackers using phishing sites and other methods.
Sentinel protocols crowd sourced intelige solution.
But a solution is on the horizon, as sentinel protocol systematically reveals one offering after the other it is very possible that this protocol could be the security standard of the future.
The Chief marketing officer Karly Choi and Chief Technology officer Lihan Lee Have recently highlighted the vision and a few products in their publications on the Coin market cap blog and Medium.
I believe that if it was not for the nervous air brought about by the current bear market, the entire crypto world would be talking about Sentinel protocol. This crypto correction was a great time for a great, no hype project to be born so that it can realistically and organically put down roots and grow with less pressure from short term speculators. Since it’s ICO, the tech team seems to have put their head down at gotten to work with recruits from all around the world.
Critics have told me that there is too much human involvement in Sentinel protocol and I always listen to that with amusement because, I don't think high human involvement is a bad thing, to the contrary I believe it’s awesome, more white hat hackers, exchanges, wallets and promoters equals more transactions. With many people involved in creating a product that has a clear vision and leadership more value is added, and the project will keep growing and evolving because there is a continuous testing environment. An IT business lesson I learnt from reading the Phoenix Project an IT Dev-ops book by Gene Kim and company. Continuous testing and tweaking are what sets successful companies from failures and mediocre companies because you are continually discovering new bottle necks and solving them. So, the Collective intelligence aspect of this project is awesome.
The Crowd sourced Threat Reputation Database is a collection of all known bad actors, and reputable projects and at the very let will hopefully remove the stigma of feeling like an idiot when one has been scammed in the past. Imagine Norton, McCafé and the rest all having a common database. Sentinels crowd sourced intelligence could potentially be bigger than any single anti-virus or cybersecurity company that we know. I realize this sounds overly ambitious but these traditional cyber security companies are not crowd sourcing their threat intelligence and that`s why Sentinel protocol is poised to be the crypto police and when crypto eventually sips into every other sphere, guess what sentinel could be ;The internet community police. Go on call me crazy.
Easy assimilation and onboarding via their Uppward Chrome Extension brings simplicity to the user and allows both the sophisticated and the none sophisticated users to check if the website that they are about to visit or the address they are about to send to money to is legitimate or a scam this will prevent the capital loss that has been all so rampant, looks like the gig is up for scammers.
Please check out these articles from Karly Choi and Lihan Lee Because I can’t do this technology justice.
