In this briefing Shannon tells us about 23andme starting to sell customer information to other companies, about a new u2f device from Google, called Titan and also about Spectre's new ability to being controlled remotely.
All of these are important threats to our privacy, especially the 23andme piece and also the Spectre. For those who don't know, Spectre is a vulnerability in microprocessors that can allow attackers to extract information from the victim.
The impact, as of 2018, is that basically almost all computers are affected by Spectre, and the remote aspect of exploitation can be done via malicious code downloaded from infected hosts. For the full scoop, see the video below.
