Custom Chip from Beauty and Beast
Stijn, an incredible man from the Netherlands, commissioned this piece and recently used it for a heartfelt proposal to his girlfriend, a devoted Beauty and the Beast enthusiast. She was pleasantly surprised and said YES! Congratulations to both of you, and here's to a wonderful journey ahead! I've received word that she was delighted with the model.
I'm thrilled to share the result of our collaborative effort. I digitally sculpted this adorable Chip using Nomad Sculpt and then brought it to life through 3D printing in resin. Throughout the sculpting process, Stijn and I worked closely to ensure we captured Chip's lively character accurately. Our aim was to portray his cheerful disposition, so I designed him with a broad smile, wide-open eyes, and gently raised brows. Creating an asymmetric face and a slightly curved nose added to the impression of his liveliness.
Chip exudes such positivity that the tea within him seems to be in constant motion. He's animated, with droplets forming as he moves around energetically. These droplets serve a dual purpose: they form a handle, making it easier to lift the lid, revealing the hidden diamond ring inside. To achieve this, I crafted a silicone mold of this component and cast it in translucent resin, while the remaining parts were meticulously 3D printed and meticulously sanded to achieve a smooth finish.
