What would it be like to live in a world where time is the only currency?

For this imaginary question, let’s imagine a world where time is the only currency.

How is it possible for time to be a currency??

There was a movie in 2011 named IN TIME , in which every person has a digital clock on their forearm, which shows the amount of time he has left to spend.

When the clock reaches zero, that person "times out" and dies.

Time has become the universal currency and can be transferred between people by holding hands or via a gadget.

What are the some pros of time as a currency??

• In the world of time as currency everyone knows how much time they have left in their life account and for the best utilization of time or earning more time they will be extremely efficient with their work and life.

• In this imaginary world, no one wears a mask for pretending to be a more polite and humble person, So there will be no fake relations and gifts, because everything will cost them their time.

What are some cons of time as a currency??

• No one wants to die, everyone will fight each other for adding some more time to their life accounts and live longer than others. This will result in extinction of real relationships.

• People will find fight more interesting than any other existing play because the one who wins the fight earns the time of the looser.

How is our world different from this imaginary world where time is the only currency??

• In our world, time is a resource. But it’s a different kind of resource. You can’t buy it, rent it, borrow it, store it, save it, renew it, earn it or multiply it. All you can do is spend it. But, in the imaginary world you can do all the above.

• In our world, the only time we are most efficient is when we are in hurry or dying, this is not the case with imaginary world, they are always efficient because they know when they are gonna die.

• In our world, we have enough time to live others' life just for the status and society, but in the imaginary world they live their own life, celebrate their own achievements.

Now Just Imagine..

Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account every morning with some huge amount.

It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course?

Each of us has such a bank. It’s name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against “tomorrow.”

You must live in the present on today’s deposits.
